Types of Work visa

Oman offers different type of work visa:


Scientific Research Visa:	These visas are for those foreigners who enter Oman for scientific research. For this purpose, Local specialized authorities have to request on behalf of applicants.
Employment Visa:	If a company hires you, then your employer or your company can apply on behalf of you for an employment visa.
Investor's Visa:	The foreigners who want to invest in Oman can apply for this visa. You just need to get approval from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Family Joining Visa:	The foreigner's employee's wife or children under the age of 21 can apply for this visa.

Required Documents

As an employer you have to submit the following documents of the employee as well as your contract:

A list of Oman's employees including designations and genders.
A list of foreign employees with their respective job positions.
A copy of foreign employees' passports with a validity of six months.
Employees' qualification certificates copies.
Attestation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Oman Embassy in the employee's native country.
A copy of the labor license.
An offer letter from the company where the employee is going to join.
An employees' medical certificates.
Two passport photos of employees.

Process to get Work Visa for Oman

Getting an Oman work permit is considered a long process for employees. These steps can be followed by employers:

The very first step is to submit an application form to the Ministry of Manpower. Then you will get a license from the Ministry of Manpower to hire foreign employees.
After this, you can send a letter of joining to eligible candidates for the job.
Then you need to submit applications to the Royal Oman Police through a one-stop source to apply for a work visa for your employees.
After getting a work visa, the employees are required to get a residence card to live in Oman.
When employees enter Oman, within 30 days they should go to the Civil Status Department of the Royal Oman Police to obtain their residence card.
